Primetime Emmy Awards Broadcast Live on Aug. 27

THE 58TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS show, hosted by Conan OBrien will broadcast live from Los Angeles historic Shrine Auditorium, Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, (8:00-11:00 pm ET live/PT tape delayed) on NBC.

None of the scheduled presenters are from the animation realm, although Emmy-nominated OBrien (LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN) was a writer on THE SIMPSONS before getting his own late-night talk show. Of course, many of the presenters have guest starred or been parodied on THE SIMPSONS.

Winners in the animation and visual effects categories were handed out Aug. 19 during the 2005-2006 Creative Arts Primetime Emmys presentation at the Shrine. That awards ceremony will air as a two-hour special on E! Entertainment Television on Aug. 26, from 8:00-10:00 pm.

THE SIMPSONS and BEFORE THE DINOSAURS won the Animated Programming categories while THE TRIANGLE and ROME won in the Visual Effects categories. Tom Kenny, voice of animates superstar SpongeBob SquarePants was a presenter at the Creative Arts Awards.

Ken Ehrlich and Jeff Ross are the exec producers; Renato Basile and Michael B. Seligman are the producers; Danette Herman is the coordinating producer and exec in charge of talent. Louis J.
