Screen Gems has announced that the PRIEST adaptation has been moved to a May 13, 2011 release, reports ComingSoon.net. Originally scheduled to hit theaters on August 27th, the film was pushed to January 14, 2011 when the studio decided to convert it to 3-D. Then later it was moved to March 4, 2011, now May.

The comic adaptation follows a priest (Paul Bettany) who bans together with a sheriff (Cam Gigandet) and priestess (Maggie Q) to hunt down the vampires that kidnapped his niece. The cast also includes Karl Urban, Lily Collins, Steven Moyer, Brad Dourif and Christopher Plummer.

Former vfx artist and director of LEGION Scott Stewart is directing.
