Prey Alone Takes Digital Excellence in Action/Cut Short Competition

The Irish live-action short, PREY ALONE, comprised almost entirely of virtual environments (co-directed by James Mather and Stephen St. Leger), won the Jury Added Award for Excellence in Digital Filmmaking at The Action/Cut 2005 Short Film Competition earlier this month in Los Angeles.

Best Animation Short went to LOR, written and produced by Andy Murdock of San Francisco. Special Jury Award for animation went to FLYAWAY, directed by Danny Oakley of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Best Foreign Award for Animation went to FRANKENCHICKEN, directed by Australias Ann-Marie Denham. The Most Promising Young Animator Award (Under 18) went to THE LEGEND OF KING ARTHUR, directed by Levi Alpert of Guilford, Connecticut.

The Action/Cut Short Film Competition (www.actioncut.com) jury committees are comprised of working professionals within the Los Angeles movie industry, including directors, producers, writers, agents and film execs.
