By The Power of Grayskull: WB Develops He-Man

Warner Bros. Pictures and Silver Pictures are in talks with Mattel to bring HE-MAN to the big screen, reports the trades. Justin Marks (VOLTRON, SUPER MAX) is adapting the Filmation animated series into the live-action feature.

The cartoon, based on the Mattel toy line, followed Prince Adam as he commanded the powers of Castle Grayskull, which transformed him into the mighty He-Man, who battled Skeletor, who was bent on conquering the planet of Eternia.

Joel Silver will produce and Neil Ellice is set to co-produce. Silver Pictures exec Navid McIlhargey brought the property to the studio.

MASTERS was previously transformed into a live-action film by Cannon Film in 1987, starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor.

A previous new live-action film had been in the works at Fox 2000 with John Woo helming.
