Canadian TV execs are on the move to Toronto-based Portfolio Entertainment which has named Kate Horton as creative director and Stephen R. Kelley as head of sales and acquisition. Horton, previously director of development at Cabium Entertainment, where she produced MONSTER BY MISTAKE, then oversaw the development and implementation of a successful merchandising program for the show, which generated books, plus dolls and home video product. Horton will seek development partnerships for Portfolio.
Kelley was vp of sales and marketing for Salter Street Films International in Halifax, Canada, where he helped the producer/distributor penetrate the U.S. and French broadcast industry and increased the companys international program library by 50%. Kelley was also head of international sales for Gullane Entertainment, where he forged multi-million dollar distribution deals in Germany, France, Italy and Latin America.
Portfolio has also promoted Deborary Rubinger to development executive.Portfolio, headed by presidents Lisa Olfman and Joy Rosen, boasts a catalog of more than 500 half hours of programming in a wide variety of genres, which includes the animated series TOAD PATROL.
