Portable Film Festival 2009: Call for Entries

The Call for Entries for the fourth annual Portable Film Festival is now open. An online festival that programs and presents from the best in film, video and digital storytelling, Portable is a festival for a new way of watching. From the second that the Portable Film Festival opens its virtual doors online in August, festival punters can take the program away with them. All they need is a portable device like an iPod, PSP, laptop, or fancy mobile phone. It is free to enter or watch.

After presenting its largest ever festival program of 162 films from 500 entries in 38 countries in 2008, Portable returns for its fourth year of giving you the best in international film culture.

Entries are being accepted until April 30 across all festival categories: Short Film, Music Video, Look at Me (online video including serials and webisodes), Get Animated (a dedicated animation category), First Hand Capture (for content shot on mobile devices like cell phones), and full Feature Films.

Whether you've come from Cannes, or have a small budget and a big idea, Portable is the place to get yourself noticed. With former films going on to be nominated for Oscars, and a program that pits the best of the international fest set alongside the greatest of bedroom vloggers, Portable has become the place to hit the big-time online.

The Portable Film Festival will award prizes over each of six categories, as voted by users. They will additionally be awarding a grand prize across the entire festival, chosen by us. So bypass the queues, tear up your tickets and get Portable in 2009. Visit www.portablefilmfestival.com for more information on how to enter or send an email to info@portablefilmfestival.com.
