Pork and Beans Short Makes Nextoons: The Nicktoons Film Festival

Pork and Beans Productions animated short, THE LAWS OF GRAVITY, has been selected to appear in Nicktoons the NEXTOONS: THE NICKTOONS FILM FESTIVAL, a weeklong festival of shorts submitted by animators worldwide. The short airs in the seventh episode on Aug. 27, 2005, at 9:00 pm ET/12:00 am PT and August 28 at 12:00 am ET/3:00 am PT on Nicktoons, as well as be simulcast on www.nicktoons.com.

Created in partnership with Frederator Studios, NEXTOONS: THE NICKTOONS FILM FESTIVAL is the first on-air festival of its kind and the only, on-air festival dedicated to showcasing the diversity of independent cartoon filmmaking by animators from around the globe. The festival consists of seven half-hour specials, premiering from August 21-28. The final episode, on August 28, will count down the top 10 shorts and will reveal the grand-prize winner. Repeat airings of the specials will continue throughout the month of September.

Created by Pat Pakula, THE LAWS OF GRAVITY is produced by Pork and Beans and Jay Surridge, and features a dog named Sparky who knows what to do when you give him a bone even in outer space. It has a painted, kids storybook illustration style, done in Flash animation. Pakula, a storyboard artist and background designer, is currently on staff at Atomic Cartoons. He collaborated with Pork & Beans on this project.
