Shrek Goes To Broadway

SHREK THE MUSICAL will make its Broadway debut this December, following preview performances in Seattle in late summer.

Tony Award winner Sutton Foster will portray Princess Fiona, Tony Award nominee Christopher Sieber will play Lord Farquaad and Kecia Lewis-Evans will portray The Dragon.

Casting for the title character and Donkey will be announced soon.

SHREK THE MUSICAL is an entirely new musical based on the story and characters from William Steig's book SHREK!, as well as the DreamWorks Animation film SHREK, the first chapter of the movie series.

The musical is DreamWorks' first venture in legitimate theater. It is co-produced by Neal Street Productions, Ltd. and will at the Broadway Theatre on Dec. 14.

Preview performances begin on November 8, 2008 following a pre-Broadway run at Seattle's The 5th Avenue Theatre, August 14 to Sept. 21.
