Los Angeles, CA -- Hollywood Post Alliance, the trade association for the post production community, has announced that ticket sales are now open for the 2012 HPA Awards Show. Conceived to recognize the achievements of those individuals who work behind the scenes, with ingenuity and creativity, to create motion pictures, commercials and television programming, the HPA Awards launch Hollywood’s awards season, which culminates in the Oscars. The gala event unfolds on the evening of November 1st at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, California.

Honors will be given in 12 craft categories including Color Grading, Editing, Sound, and Compositing for feature film, television and commercials. Special awards will be presented to Cinnafilm, Crossroads Systems, Dolby Laboratories, and Sony Electronics - winners of the Engineering Excellence Award, sponsored by NAB Show. Gradient Interactive will receive the HPA Judges Award for Creativity and Innovation in Post Production. This year, the prestigious Charles S. Swartz Award, which recognizes broad and lasting contributions that have advanced and provided a unique purpose to the field of Post Production, will be given to Ray Dolby, Founder of Dolby Laboratories.

Tickets for the HPA Awards consistently sell out, and early purchase is highly recommended. The gala evening is an engaging and community centered event, bringing out the entire post production community. The evening begins with a wine and cheese reception, continues into the 90 minute awards show, and ends with a cocktail party. The HPA Awards return for their seventh year to the Skirball Cultural Center.
