Horrid Henry Headed To The Stage

Leading independent producer Novel Ent. is taking its hit show HORRID HENRY from the TV screen to the stage with Watershed Productions in association with Sheffield Theatres. This announcement comes on the back of a recent second series commission for HORRID HENRY from CITV.

For the first time ever on stage, Henry takes his rightful place in the spotlight. Along with Mum, Dad, Perfect Peter and Moody Margaret -- only they're not going to be in the spotlight, of course, not if Henry's got anything to do with it.

Based on the much-loved books by the award-winning Francesca Simon and the hugely popular CITV animated series produced by Novel Ent., the original stage show will be written by the highly acclaimed John Godber, directed by Hannah Chissick and designed by Pip Leckenby.

HORRID HENRY -- LIVE AND HORRID! opens at Sheffield's Lyceum Theatre on August 28, with previews from August 26, and runs until September 13. After that the production will embark on a nationwide tour to venues including St George's Hall, Bradford; Swan Theatre, High Wycombe; Churchill Theatre, Bromley; Journal Tyne Theatre, Newcastle; King's Theatre, Edinburgh; New Theatre, Hull and Liverpool Playhouse. Further dates into 2009 will be announced shortly.
