Digital Animation Producers: From Pencils to Pixels Glendale, California, USANovember 6, 2003

PGA New Media Council presents a panel discussion titled Digital Animation Producers: From Pencils to Pixels. The focus will be on key issues in digital animation production including the state of the business, producer credit issues and the production process for digital animation from pitching to distribution. Obie Scott Wade, president ObieCo. Entertainment, will lead the discussion. In addition to developing HOWDY FROM TEXAS at Warner Animation and creating JULIUS & FRIENDS with Paul Frank, Wade served as a writer on the BABY LOONEY TUNES and is writing and directing AL ROACH: PRIVATE INSECTIGATOR, a digital film noir pilot for The Turner Classic Movie Channel. Panelists include Aron Warner, producer of the Academy Award-winning blockbuster SHREK; Bill Damaschke, head of creative production DreamWorks; Graham Walters, producer FINDING NEMO; Carolyn Soper, vp of production for Walt Disney Feature Animation; Loren Smith, producer at DPS/Film Roman Inc. on KING OF THE HILL; Steve Galloway, development head for TOKYOPOP; Eric Mahady, art and technical director for Universals upcoming animated 2D/3D combo VAN HELSING; and Ramsey Naito, producer on the Academy Award-nominated CGI film, JIMMY NEUTRON: BOY GENIUS. Networking and cocktails begin at 7:30 pm with the discussion beginning at 8:00 pm. The event will take place at DreamWorks Animation Studio, Campanile Theater, 1000 Flower Street, Glendale, California 91201. No charge to active PGA members, $20 to guests accompanied by active PGA members and $40 to non-members and inactive PGA members. Checks can be made payable to Producers Guild of America.
