'Peppa Pig' to Air in Latin America

eOne Family signs a new deal with Discovery Kids to bring “Peppa Pig” to Latin American.

London, UK -- Entertainment One Family accelerated the international expansion of Peppa Pig with news that leading broadcaster Discovery Kids has acquired the broadcast rights for Latin America. The multi award-winning pre-school series from animation studio Astley Baker Davies will launch in the territory this year on Discovery Kids.

Peppa Pig will be shown three times daily in half hour blocks on Discovery Kids and the channel is supporting the broadcast launch with PR and marketing to help build awareness and drive tune-in. Peppa will also be included in the extensive promotional activity planned for the relaunch of Discovery Kids.

Across the pond, Peppa Pig is steadily building brand awareness in the U.S. where it currently airs on Nick Jr. Toys, DVD and publishing launched exclusively at Toys “R” Us stores nationwide in 2012, with further lines planned for 2013. In Canada, Peppa Pig will begin broadcasting on Corus Entertainment’s Treehouse Channel this month. Studio Licensing represents the merchandise rights for the property in Canada and a series of deals have been executed recently that will see product launch at retail this year.
