Jamie Moss, a screenwriter on X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, has appealed the Writers Guild of America's decision to not give him screen credit on the upcoming summer tentpole, writes The Hollywood Reporter. Both Moss and Josh Schwartz, who were the first two writers on the project, were left with no screen credit. Ashley Miller & Zack Stentz and Jane Goldman & Matthew Vaughn were awarded screenwriting credits with Sheldon Turner and Bryan Singer gaining "story by" credit.

The trade pub reports that Schwartz will not appeal the decision and, while he will not appeal, Singer is disappointed with the ruling.

Moss will appeal to the WGA appeals board on Friday. He is most upset with Turner receiving story credit when the writer never worked on FIRST CLASS, having written the script for a MAGNETO spinoff that was incorporated into the final FIRST CLASS script. Moss argues that WGA rules stipulate that writers must be told about new writers added to a project and that Moss was not informed that Turner was being considered a writer on the X-MEN prequel.
