Christopher Keenan has been promoted from vp to svp of creative affairs for Warner Bros. Animation, it was announced by Sander Schwartz, president of WBA. Keenan will be responsible for developing new animated television series, made-for-video projects, animated specials and cartoon shorts, as well as supervising production of television series. He will continue to report directly to Schwartz.

“Christopher is an outstanding creative executive and has played an integral role in the development of many series throughout his 14-year tenure with Warner Bros. Animation,” said Schwartz. “His creative savvy, production sensibilities and enthusiasm have been instrumental in helping guide the direction of such popular series as ¡MUCHA LUCHA!, WHAT’S NEW SCOOBY-DOO?, BABY LOONEY TUNES and STATIC SHOCK. He has been at the forefront of our creative efforts, and this well-deserved promotion reflects his invaluable contributions and dedication to Warner Bros. Animation.”

Keenan began his career working in production at WBA in 1989. He left briefly in 1993 for a stint as director of ABC’s children's entertainment, and later moved to Amblin Entertainment where he served as an animation story editor. Keenan returned in 1995 to WBA as director of programming, and was named vp, creative affairs, in 1999. During his time at the company, Keenan has helped develop and produce more than 30 animated series, 15 feature-length video productions and a number of online series at WBA.
