Warner Bros. is looking to bring in Steven Spielberg for its epic Moses tale, GODS AND KINGS, reports Deadline.com. The new writing team of Michael Green (GREEN LANTERN) and Stuart Hazeldine (PARADISE LOST) penned the script. The story is based on the biblical Old Testament, which was given a treatment from Matti Leshem. Dan Lin and Lesham are the producers. Spielberg has read the script, but hasn't taken any meetings yet. If Warners wants the director the film will have to be a co-production with DreamWorks.

I thought those were the kind of movies a society would accept in a conservative-fabrication of consent context. I would be very surprised if a liberal thinker like Spielberg could let himself be involved in such maneuvers. Even with the justification that he is a Jewish and so ( I guess) he believes in God and the old Testament, and so he would be prone to spread the word of God, is just too much.

There is nothing innocent about making a movie where the "will of god" is depicted in such explicit terms. It goes way back to the Bush family era and their "god told me" messages.

Personally I had already enough with "Evan Almighty", a pathetic attempt to sell as comedy pure Bible Belt nonsensical.

Because MOSES = Boxoffice Gold.

And throw Dreamworks in the Mix, and you've just got Double Rainbow Boxoffice Gold baby. How could it miss?
