Montréal-based production house Voodoo Arts, part of the New York-based internationally-membered Ron Soodalter Associates Consortium, has gained exclusive representation in North America of Didier Kwak, one of the best French special effects artists. In addition, Voodoo also announced the appointment of Luc Belanger-Martin as executive vice president. With nearly fifteen years of experience in special effects, Kwak’s special effects credits include Wim Wenders’ PAR DELÀ LES NUAGES, Gérard Pullicino’s BABEL and Luc Besson’s THE FIFTH ELEMENT. Kwak also worked with Industrial Light & Magic on the Ron Howard feature film WILLOW. With a Master’s degree in Management, Belanger-Martin has mainly served as a management consultant in the information technology sector. Recently, he served as executive VP at ACME Multimedia before joining Groupe Vidéotron as product manager for e-commerce applications. "I'm glad to join such a talented and dynamic team. Voodoo Arts is currently experiencing a significant growth, mainly in the advertising business, and I plan to strengthen our management structure and provide the necessary flexibility in order to grasp all the opportunities that we will meet, whether it's in Canada, the U.S. or in international markets," Belanger-Martin said.
