Gore Verbinski is set to remake Danny Kaye's 1947 film, THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, reports ComingSoon.net. 20th Century Fox is producing.

Steve Conrad (THE KARATE KID) penned the redux, which finds a weakling comic book creator whose heroic dreams turn real when he gets wrapped up in a plot to uncover Dutch crown jewels missing since WWII.

No announcement has been made on who will play the lead role, but names that circled the long-in-development project include Mike Myers, Sacha Baron Cohen and Jim Carrey.
