Skydance Productions' head David Ellison is in talks to buy the rights to anime series STAR BLAZERS, reports Deadline.com. If the deal goes through, Christopher McQuarrie (THE USUAL SUSPECTS) will pen the script. In addition to Ellison, McQuarrie and Josh C. Kline would produce. Originally titled in Japan SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO, the series followed an alien invasion that nearly whipped out all humans, which have to journey through space in order to save Earth, Skydance has a production deal with Paramount Pictures.
