Trio Joins Elastic Rights

Elastic Rights has appointed three new executives to manage the company’s portfolio of multimedia properties. Two will be based at the company’s Madrid headquarters while the third is located in Lisbon to oversee ER‚ growing Portuguese business.

Joining ER from one of Spain’s leading media groups, Taller de Editores/VOCENTO, is Juanjo Conde, who takes over the position of marketing director. Conde will liaise closely with strategic partners and play a key role in creating a marketing platform for properties represented by Elastic Rights.

Maria Gonzalez joins ER as licensing co-coordinator, from Walt Disney Consumer Products Iberia. Gonzalez is responsible for all day-to-day operations related to ER licensing business and reports to Conde.

To support the company’s growing business in Portugal, Maria Joao Alvares has been hired to co-ordinate all merchandising and sales promotions activities in this market. Joao Alvares worked previously for a number of top companies including the Walt Disney Co. Portugal and GDM Licensing.

Properties handled by Elastic Rights include the long-running animated football series, FLASH KICKER, CINAR’s pre-school series, CAILLOU and the teen reality show, I WANNA BE FAMOUS FOR A DAY‚ (QUIERO SER FAMOSO POR UN DÍA).

Madrid-based Elastic Rights (www.elasticrights.com) was set up in September 2001 by Ignacio Orive, former commercial managing director of animation house BRB Internacional (Spain). The company handles multimedia rights for a carefully selected catalog of projects ranging from animation to live action, targeting children, youth and family audiences, primarily in Spain, Portugal and Italy.
