LatinoReview.com reports that TRANSFORMERS writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci have acquired the rights to Joe Hill's IDW Publishing comic, LOCKE AND KEY. They will produce the film via their DreamWorks deal. The story follows a mother, along with her three children, who moves into her estate in Lovecraft, Massachusetts after the murder of her husband. The multi-roomed mansion needs special keys to get into the various rooms and the evil forces that lurk inside lure the husband's killer to come kill them.

Previously, the project was set up at Dimension Films with Frank Darabont interested in directing.

Fun fact, Hill is the son of Stephen King.

Shouldn't they be more well known for writing Star Trek than Transformers.
