Top Gun 2 Flies Forward

Paramount Pictures has begun talks with producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott to join TOP GUN 2, reports Vulture. The studio to looking at Christopher McQuarrie (THE USUAL SUSPECTS) to rework the script. Word is Tom Cruise's Maverick would return in the film, but in a smaller role.

Turns out producer David Ellison, the son of Oracle Corp. founder Larry Ellison, is a huge aeronautics buff. He produced the WWI dogfight film FLYBOYS. He has co-financed several of Paramount's productions including Cruise's MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 4.
