Brian Singer spoke with Syfy's Blastr at the Sitges Film Festival and updated them on his projects following JACK THE GIANT KILLER. The SUPERMAN RETURNS filmmaker said that his planned remake of John Boorman's EXCALIBUR has been nixed due to a competing King Arthur film at Warner Bros. that is further along in development.

Singer said that this frees him up to do the BATTLESTAR GALACTICA feature as his follow-up to GIANT KILLER. The feature will reboot the original series and not be connected to Ron D. Moore's TV series reboot. BATTLESTAR creator Glen Larson will produce with Singer.
