Zentropa Intl. Spain, Public Frame, Muak Canarias and Goa Films are partnering on the international co-production RED DOG, reports Variety. The sci-fi psychological thriller is set in the 23rd century following a virus outbreak that sends humans to underwater hideaways. After 200 years, tests report that the surface is safe so a team is sent to investigate. When a member of the mission disappears, the remaining team members start receiving eerie pics on their cell phones.

David Pantaleon will make his directing debut on the 800,000 Euro production, which is based on his short film. He is co-writing the script with Aitor Guezuraga and Enrique Martinez.

The English-lingo production is set to film in the Canary and Easter Islands in fall of next year. Muak Canarias, based in the Canary Islands, has secured funding from the government there.

Trust Nordisk will rep international rights.

Hi!

The short film looks quite compelling -- a good sign for the feature...

Unfortunately, the above link is not in English. However, I did locate this "15052481," in Vimeo.

Very cool,
