Plotkin New SVP at SyFy

Former Warner Bros. TV exec Andrew Plotkin has stepped into the role of SVP of original programming at SyFy, reports VARIETY. He will report to Syfy original programming EVP and Universal Cable Prods. co-head of original content Mark Stern. Plotkin will work closely with Syfy's other SVP Erik Storey.

Plotkin takes the post that Tony Optican vacated to head FremantleMedia North America's scripted programming division.

Plotkin has developed such shows as WITHOUT A TRACE, NIP/TUCK, SMALLVILLE and COLD CASE.

Prior to the SyFy post, Plotkin was exec producing for China's national broadcaster, CCTV.
