Pinocchio Comes to Life at Warner Bros.
PUSHING DAISIES creator Bryan Fuller has been hired to write the script for Warner Bros.' live-action PINOCCHIO, reports Variety. Dan Jinks and Dan Jinks Co.,'s vp of development Nick Nantell will produce.
Jinks, with his former partner Bruce Cohen, produced Fuller's DAISIES.
Sarah Schechter is shepherding for WB.
Warner Bros. had a bad experience with Carlo Collodi's wooden boy in the past. It developed an adaptation with Francis Ford Coppola in the 1990s, which never came together. Coppola sued the studio when they blocked his efforts to move the project to Columbia. As a result, Coppola was awarded $20 million.
