Persson New Acquisitions Director For Cartoon Network EMEA

Cecilia Persson has been appointed director of acquisitions for Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Toonami channels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Persson was director of acquisitions, planning and channel development for Showtime, the middle eastern digital satellite broadcaster, where she was responsible for acquiring a wide variety of product covering kids to feature films and oversaw planning and presentation for the company's seven owned and operated channels. She was responsible for output deals with major studios including Fox, Universal, Paramount, Sony and DreamWorks.

Persson previously was channel manager of Carlton Cinema.

"As we continue to add more channels to our portfolio, Cecilia's extensive negotiation skills and sound knowledge of the TV industry will make sure that we continue to acquire the best shows for all regions," said Finn Arnesen, svp of programming, acquisitions and development for Cartoon Network, EMEA and head of program production for Cartoon Network International. Persson reports to Arnesen in CN’s U.K. office.
