Kevin Eastman, co-creator of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, and DESPERADO producer Carlos Gallardo are set to exec produce ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, which will be written and directed by Chee Keong Cheung (UNDERGROUND), reports Variety. This zombie apocalypse has the walking dead transforming into extreme evil versions of their living selves. The film will incorporate mixed martial arts into the action.

Mark Strange and Steve Horvath co-wrote the screenplay. U.K.-based Intense Prods. and Magic Lantern Digital Prods. are the studios. Strange and Sterling Pictures' Michael Riley are the exec producers.

The transmedia endeavor will include a videogame, a Heavy Metal Publishing graphic novel and merchandising.
