Angus Fletcher has been
promoted to president of the Jim Henson Television Group - Europe,
the company has recently announced. Fletcher, who is based in London,
will oversee all current and future television development,
production and programming, and report to Charlie Rivkin, president
and CEO of the Jim Henson Company. As executive vice president,
Fletcher doubled the company's television program library.
Currently, he is co-creator and executive producer on THE HOOBS, a
new preschool television series airing on Channel 4 in the UK.
Channel 4 has ordered 250 half-hour episodes, making it the largest
ever commissioned UK preschool series. "Jim Henson Television is at a
pinnacle of accomplishment thanks in large part to Angus' tireless
work and devotion to the company," said Rivkin. "His tremendous
insight, creativity, experience and drive has taken our television
programming to new heights, and we know that we will continue on this
path of success as Angus assumes this new role."
