After 13 years as head of international sales, Nelvana has promoted Emmanuele Petry to the new role of overseeing European development and international co-production.

"Emma has done an outstanding job building Nelvana's business in Europe and establishing important relationships with all of our key broadcasters," said Doug Murphy, evp business development.

Scott Dyer, evp production & development added, "This new role will really play to Emma's creative strengths. She'll now be able to shape a project from concept through development and into production."

In her new role, Petry will be principally responsible for sourcing new content, overseeing co-production partnerships and ensuring that Nelvana remains active within the European creative community. Petry will now report directly to Scott Dyer.

“I’m very excited to have the chance to help European talent and projects become international and to focus on the core of what animation is all about—creativity and originality,” said Petry.

In addition, Nelvana announced that Lynn Chadwick has been promoted to vp, European sales and distribution. Chadwick joined Nelvana in 2002 from Salter Street Films and has been instrumental in building Nelvana’s business in Northern Europe.

Reporting to Chadwick will be Sylvie Didierjean, director of international sales; Wiebke Hoefer, head of sales for German-speaking Europe, and Leyla Formoso, director of Latin American and Iberian sales. In her new position, Chadwick will report directly to Doug Murphy.

”This is an exciting challenge and a great opportunity for growth,” said Chadwick. “I look forward to becoming more directly involved with the European sales team as we continue to nurture Nelvana’s international business.”

Beginning at MIP-TV, Petry and Chadwick will transition into their new roles, which take full effect on Sept. 1, 2005.
