Peter Jackson may be taking on a project to adapt Philip Reeve's fantasy novels MORTAL ENGINES for a film, THE DOMINION POST reports.

Weta Workshops is working on designs for the science fiction series, according to the New Zealand publication.

A Jackson spokesman didn't deny details about the director's involvement, but said "any comment should come from Peter."
