MIXME NETWORKS, INC., a developer of media technologies supporting dynamic, interactive e-marketing tools and interactive greetings, announced the appointment of RUSSELL T. GILLAM as the company's new CEO. Gillam is an Internet pioneer coming to MixMe Networks, Inc. from Disney Direct where he served as senior VP of commerce. Gillam was responsible for all the Internet initiatives of Disney properties. There he led a staff of over 1,000 people across the e-commerce units including Disney, ABC, ESPN and Go.com. At Disney, Gillam also served as general manager of the Disney Store On-line, vice president of e-commerce/Buena Vista Internet group, and senior vice president, general manager of Disney Direct. Specific highlights of Gillam's Disney career include launching the Disney Store On-line, shaping the overall e-commerce strategy for Buena Vista Internet Group (the central umbrella organization for all Internet operations including Disney Studios, ABC and ESPN), as well as reorganizing the company's catalog operation. Prior to joining Disney, Gillam worked at Santa Barbara, Calif.-based Big Dog Sportswear where he was director of mail order.
