Michael Bay is set to produce a film inspired by IDW comic ZOMBIES VS. ROBOTS, reports Deadline.com. J.T. Petty penned the spec script INHERIT THE EARTH, which was influence by Ashley Wood and Chris Ryall's ZVR. The story follows a young girl, the last human, who is protected by robots from highly evolved zombies.

Platinum Dunes, Circle of Confusion and IDW are the studios. In addition to Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Dave Alpert and Rick Jacobs are the producers. Ted Adams will exec produce.

Jonathan Kadin and Hannah Minghella are shepherding for Sony.
