Mark Bailey (PANDEMIC: FACING AIDS, GHOST OF ABU GHRAIB) has been tapped to pen the script for a BLACK PANTHER feature for Marvel, according to Heat Vision.

Black Panther debuted in 1966 in the FANTASTIC FOUR comic. He is the king of a fictional African country, which industrialists and criminals try to pillage for its abundant natural resources.

In the '90s, the film was in development at Columbia then moved to Artisan Ent. In 2003, Lionsgate bought Artisan and that is where Marvel regained the rights to the character in 2005. Along the way Wesley Snipes had been attached to star.
