With last week's departure of Patty Jenkins, Marvel is quickly looking for a new director for THOR 2. Heat Vision reports that Alan Taylor (TV's GAME OF THRONES) and Daniel Minahan (TV's GAME OF THRONES, TRUE BLOOD) have emerged as the top contenders.

In addition to a new helmer, the studio is looking for a new writer to rework Don Payne's script. The scribes on the shortlist include John Collee (MASTER AND COMMANDER: FAR SIDE OF THE WORLD), Robert Rodat (SAVING PRIVATE RYAN) and Roger Avary (PULP FICTION).

Marvel has set Nov. 15, 2013 for the film's release.
