VFX company LOOK Effects President Mark Driscoll weighs in on the “Panel Discussion on the Future of the VFX Industry” and visual effects supervisor Dan Schrecker presents the company’s visual effects work in “The Making of Warm Bodies” at the 2013 FMX conference in Suttgart, Germany.

VFX company LOOK Effects will be participating in the program presented at the FMX Conference in Suttgart, Germany next week. LOOK President Mark Driscoll will weigh in on the “Panel Discussion on the Future of the VFX Industry” being held at 4:30pm, Tuesday, April 23. Visual effects supervisor Dan Schrecker will present the company’s visual effects work on Friday, April 26, at 2:00pm in “The Making of Warm Bodies.” FMX -- long considered one of the premier conferences in the world on animation, effects, games, and transmedia -- runs from April 23 - 26, in Stuttgart, Germany.
The business panel, a co-production of FMX and the Visual Effects Society, includes business leaders from international visual effects production facilities and industry consulting firms. Driscoll will joined by fellow panelists Pierre Buffin, CEO, BUF Compagnie, Christian Vogt, COO/Executive Vice President, Pixomondo Europe and Jean-Noël Portugal, Founder, jnko. Panel moderator Eric Roth, Executive Director of the Visual Effects Society, will guide this important conversation concerning the current state of the visual effects industry and what these leaders see as the future.

Mark Driscoll, President, executive producer and co-founder, is responsible for LOOK’s management and long-term strategic planning, as well as serving as executive producer for all of the company’s key projects.
Dan Schrecker, visual effect supervisor on Warm Bodies will give an in-depth explanation of how LOOK produced the more than 300 shots for the “rom-zom-com” which opened in the US on February 1st. His discussion will also center on how the vfx company opened a new office in Vancouver, hired staff and created production and animation pipelines to accomplish their production – all within 10 months.
“This film gave us many challenges and we’re very proud of what we accomplished,” says Schrecker. “I’m really looking forward to telling the discerning attendees of FMX about what we did and how we got it done.”
Besides being a well-respected and BAFTA-nominated visual effects supervisor, Dan Schrecker serves as creative director of LOOK Effects. Schrecker’s efforts have helped make LOOK’s New York office an important player is the east coast film and television production community.
