Logan's Run Hires New Writer

Andrew Baldwin, who penned Timur Bekmembatov's RED ASPHALT, has been hired to rework Nicolas Winding Refn's LOGAN'S RUN remake, reports Heat Vision. Warner Bros. sci-fi production stars DRIVE star Ryan Gosling and will be produced by Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman.

In the William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson novel, the future utopian society has 21 year olds killed as a form of population control.

Alex Garland (28 DAYS LATER) has the last writer to take a crack at the script based on a treatment from Will Beall (GANGSTER SQUAD).

The project has been in development for years with directors such as Bryan Singer (X-MEN), James McTiegue (V FOR VENDETTA) and Carl Erik Rinsch (47 RONIN) attached at various points.
