Production company Super 78 has hired Lisa O’Brien as the company’s director of marketing. Formerly an executive producer at Rhythm & Hues, O'Brien honed her experience on commercials for Sunbeam, Matchlight, Kellogg's Pop-Tarts and Lexus. She began her producing career at Digital Productions then joined Rhythm & Hues in 1987 as a line producer, becoming executive producer for the studio's CGI television commercial division in 1990, where she worked until 1996. O’Brien, who left the industry for a few years to pursue a degree in American Literature and Culture at UCLA, says that she was "knocked out" by the work produced at Super 78 and jumped at the opportunity to be a part of this unique company. Super 78’s recent projects include cinematics for Namco’s PAC-MAN titles and Sega’s SONIC ADVENTURE 2. The company is currently working on a music video for Virgin and a graphics package for a major cable network.

Sylvia Edwards spoke to Super 78 founders Dina Benadon and Brent Young in her quest to uncover the differences between the gaming production process and more traditional animation fields.
