Justice League Writer/Producer McDuffie Dies

Dwayne McDuffie, who wrote for comics and animated superhero series such as JUSTICE LEAGUE, has died, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The cause of death is yet to be determined. He was 49 years old.

McDuffie's animation writing credits include TEEN TITANS, STATIC SHOCK and ALL-STAR SUPERMAN. In addition to writing he also produced JUSTICE LEAGUE, BEN 10: ALIEN FORCE and BEN 10: ULTIMATE ALIEN. In 2003, he won a Humanitas Prize for his STATIC SHOCK episode that dealt honestly with gun violence.

In the world of comics, McDuffie wrote for both DC and Marvel. In 1993, he was one of the founders of Milestone Media, which set out to give better chances to minority artists in the comic industry.
