To commemorate what would have been the 50th birthday of legendary Disney and Pixar story guru Joe Ranft this past March 13th, Disney’s John Musker posted a video tribute he created originally for Ranft’s September 17, 2005 memorial celebration. Ranft died in a tragic car accident on California’s Highway 1 on August 16, 2005.   Musker wrote on his YouTube site:

Saturday March 13, 2010 the great PIXAR and Disney story artist would have been 50 years old. Joe was one of the prime creative people behind PIXAR and a major contributor to Toy Story, a Bug's Life, Cars. Joe was tragically killed in an automobile accident 5 years ago. This is a visualization of anecdotes I heard about my friend and colleague Joe.
