Oscar-winner Javier Bardem in talks to voice the new bad guy in Universal and Illumination’s DESPICABLE ME 2, reports Heat Vision. Bardem would play El Macho, a villain who is training his son Machito for evil. Steve Carell is expected to return as Gru, the evil mastermind who becomes a hero after adopting three orphan girls.

Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud are back to direct the film, which is set for release on July 3, 2012.
