Janice Ross To Head U.S. Children's Programming For Lego
LEGO
Media, the entertainment division of LEGO, has promoted Janice Ross
to head of U.S. children's programming. In her new position, Ross
will oversee a variety of development, production and marketing
activities for LEGO Media and its growing slate of children's
programming, which includes the CGI-animated, direct-to-video feature
BIONICLE: THE MASK OF LIGHT, based on the company's successful
Bionicle characters and storyline. Previously, Ross was senior
licensing manager for the company. She will continue to be based in
Los Angeles and report to U.K.-based Conny Kalcher, global vice
president of children's programming for LEGO Media. Since joining
LEGO in 2000, Ross has worked on a number of high-profile licensing
and merchandising programs, including HARRY POTTER, SPIDER-MAN and
GALIDOR: DEFENDERS OF THE OUTER DIMENSION. Prior to joining LEGO,
Ross was account supervisor for Simon Marketing, where she managed
promotional activities for clients like express.com and Hallmark.
Before moving into licensing and marketing, Ross spent 10 years in
film and television development, most notably as a director and then
vice president at Carolco Pictures from 1992-1995.
