Idlewild Director Secures Rights to Gigantor

Bryan Barber (IDLEWILD) has secured the film, merchandise and videogame rights to '60s anime GIGANTOR, reports Deadline.com. The story follows a 12-year-old and his giant hero robot. Barber, who is pitching the project as a director, calls it a cross between TRANSFORMERS and THE GOONIES. Barber won the rights to the property have showing rights holder Fred Ladd extensive storyboards for his concept. Barber is putting together a six-minute sizzle reel to take to the studios.
