Paramount has tapped cousins Mark and Brian Gunn to write the remake of THE MONSTER SQUAD, reports HEAT VISION. Rob Cohen (XXX) is directing.

The 1987 film follows a team of kids who must stop a group of monsters, which includes Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Gill Man and The Mummy, from taking over the globe.

Cohen, who produced the original, is also producing with Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller and David Ladd.
