Gullane Entertainment, the UK-based developer and marketer of such children’s based entertainment as BRITT ALLCROFT'S MAGIC ADVENTURES OF MUMFIE and THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE AND FRIENDS, has named David Snyder senior vice president of entertainment as part of the company's ongoing expansion efforts. In this newly appointed position, Snyder will oversee Gullane Entertainment's global production, distribution and development activity and will be based in the company's New York office. Snyder joins Gullane Entertainment from Walt Disney Television International in London, where he served as senior vice president of programming and creative development from 1998 to 2001. In this position he was responsible for developing such shows as ART ATTACK, now part of the Gullane Entertainment catalogue. He was also charged with oversight of creative activities and brand building initiatives for the Disney Channel businesses. Snyder came to Walt Disney Television from its sister Buena Vista Productions, where he served as vice president, program development from 1995 through 1998. During his tenure, Synder was the driving force behind building a dedicated program development department focused on creating programming specifically for Disney's international television business.
