Disney has hired David Elliot and Paul Lovett (G.I. JOE: RISE OF COBRA) to pen the script for a fantasy film centering on gargoyles, reports Variety. The film is not an adaptation of the animated series GARGOYLES, but an original idea casting the stone statues as guardian angel types.

Zoe Green was previously developing the script. Lauren Shuler Donner is the producer. LouAnne Brickhouse will oversee for the Mouse House.
