Ricky Gervais will lend his voice to the Mole in the live-action/animatronic version of THE WIND AND THE WILLOWS, reports Variety. Ray Griggs (I WANT YOUR MONEY) is directing the indie feature. Weta will be creating the animatronic critters.

Radar Pictures' Ted Field is the producer. Bill Marsilii (DEJA VU) adapted Kenneth Grahame's story into a screenplay.

In the story, Mole, Rat, Badger and Toad team up to save the Willows from an evil plot that will break the truce between animals and humans.
