Game of Throne's Taylor to Helm Thor 2
Marvel Studios has settled on its replacement for Patty Jenkins at the helm of THOR 2, reports Deadline.com. Alan Taylor (TV's GAME OF THRONES) will direct the sequel. Chris Hemsworth is set to return, as well as Natalie Portman, who was reported as very upset about Jenkins being removed from the film.
In addition to a new helmer, the studio is looking for a new writer to rework Don Payne's script. The scribes on the shortlist include John Collee (MASTER AND COMMANDER: FAR SIDE OF THE WORLD), Robert Rodat (SAVING PRIVATE RYAN) and Roger Avary (PULP FICTION).
Kenneth Branagh directed the original THOR.
Marvel has set Nov. 15, 2013 for the film's release.
