20th Century Fox has not given up plans on rebooting the PLANET OF THE APES franchise, despite reports the project was killed, VULTURE reports.

Peter Chernin has joined on to produce the film code-named CAESER and the studio has hired Jamie Moss to rework Scott Frank's screenplay for the film. Frank, who was previously attached to write and direct, took a different path with his script and was unwilling to change direction. A new director should be named soon.
