Guillermo del Toro, cinematographer Guillermo Navarro and commercial house Motion Theory's Mathew Cullen and Javier Jimenez have joined forces to create the new creative studio Mirada, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The new firm will develop projects for various mediums.

Based in Marina del Ray, Mirada calls a 25,000-square-foot building home. It features soundstages and a full camera shop. In addition to cultivating original IP, it will also serve as a visual effects and commercial production house. The location is the same where miniatures for BLADE RUNNER and CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND where shot.

Del Toro and Cullen will use Mirada as their base of operations for their own productions.
