David Gordon Green To Adapt Sci-Fi Novel Q

Columbia Pictures in finalizing the rights for Evan Mandery's sci-fi novel Q, reports ComingSoon.net. PINEAPPLE EXPRESS' team of director David Gordon Green and producer Matt Tolmach are attached.

The story follows a man who gets visited on his wedding day by a future version of his self, who tells him not to marry his true love Q. The man decides to call it off, which throws his life into turmoil. Throughout his life, he is visited by other future versions of his self, which keep giving him advice — sometimes contradictory advice.

Mandery's manager Pouya Shahbazian will also produce. Matt Tolmach Prods.' execs Robert Kessel and Kate Checci, who brought in the book, will help develop the project. Andrea Giannetti and Hannah Minghella will shepherd for Columbia.
